The Foundry has always had a deep commitment to philanthropy and we are continuing our work to increase and diversify our ongoing charitable donations.
In 2020 we were beyond thrilled to support the good work of these community-nominated causes: The ACLU, Native Governance Center, Avenues for Youth, The People's Laundry MPLS, Juxtaposition Arts, The 40 Acres & A Mule Project, Women Winning, Breaking Free, MAD DADS, Ampersand Families, Natural Resources Defense Council, Metro Midwifery, ZACAH, Headway Emotional Health, We the People Opportunity Farm, The Sheridan Story/Every Meal, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Emerge Mothers Academy, Cheyenne River Youth Project, Migizi, St. Stephen's, Better Futures Minnesota, Tubman, and the Loveland Foundation.
Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods donates 5% of our total sales to a different small-and-mighty community-nominated cause.
While we have historically directed our larger-scale holiday and weekend giving campaigns towards larger local or national philanthropies (e.g. ACLU, Memorial Sloan Kettering, which we still support) we have seen firsthand that some of the most important work towards racial equity, environmental justice, and vital outreach to humans in need and/or building beauty happens at the community level. We are hoping that these ongoing smaller sum donations will serve as 1:1 investments directly back into our communities where they can have the biggest impact.
As always, if you don't need anything from us, please consider supporting any of our Giving Friday recipients directly!

Several times a year we dedicate "Foundry Weekends of Giving" where we donate up to 100% of our sales to causes chosen by our Foundry Family OR dictated by time-sensitive needs of our community. We focus our giving on cash donations, with recipients including Memorial Sloan Kettering Rare Cancers, RAICES, The ACLU, St. Stephen's Human Services, The Tubman Center, The Natural Resources Defense Council, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Honor the Earth, Underdog Rescue, Diverse Daisies, Espwa Berlancia/Middle Ground Haiti, Human Rights Campaign, and The Minneapolis Art Lending Library. Additionally we have supported local schools and charities with in-kind donations for auctions or other development initiatives. If you have suggestions for other worthy causes or would like to discuss our shop values, community principles, or the math behind our donation practices, please reach out at [email protected].
If you're a non-profit looking to connect with us about possible collaborations or donations please drop us a line at [email protected].
