Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods donates 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Highland Friendship Club!
The Highland Friendship Club is a Twin-Cities-based non-profit that connects and supports adults and teens who have disabilities with social and educational opportunities—providing a range of programming and loving spaces in which to develop lifelong skills, friendships and connections within their community. Days in the Highland Friendship Club are spent with a community of people in an environment filled with joy, acceptance, and mutual respect. And dance parties. And painting classes. And performances. And just hanging out with pals doing cool stuff. YES, FRIENDSHIP CLUB!
In these wild times, when it has been abundantly clear to all how difficult it can be to nurture joy and maintain connections, the Highland Friendship Club has continued to offer daily virtual support services for all of their Friends—meet-ups, cooking classes, game nights, book clubs, workouts, costume parties, craft nights—as one Highland Friendship Club member said: it's something to look forward to every day. How wonderful (and existentially necessary) is that? See more of their life-affirming work here @HighlandFriendshipClub.
Thank you to Patty for the nomination!
We are pleased and proud to support this crucial work, this Giving Friday and always. If you don't need anything from us, consider donating to the Highland Friendship Club directly.
If you DO find yourself in need of Easter basket fixings or a new book to read, know that your purchase goes to support good change happening on the community level.
If YOU have a worthy cause to nominate for our Foundry Giving Friday initiative, pop on over to our Nomination Page and drop us a line. We're all in this together.
