Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods contributes 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Help At Your Door!

Help At Your Door is a Twin Cities-based non-profit dedicated to helping seniors and individuals with disabilities to maintain their independence and continue living in their homes. It's often the small things, really, the fetching and schlepping of the groceries, changing the smoke detector battery, say, a quick ride to the hardware store or the museum, the shoveling of the stoop, and perhaps, yes, even figuring out the dang remote that can make the difference between someone living well in their own home or having to move somewhere else (if "somewhere else" is even an option). Sometimes a care facility is totally the right call, and sometimes it is actually the facility of care that does the most good. Help At Your Door—and their heart-full crew of volunteers—offer just this kind of care. Small tasks become mighty, putting up a pot of tea to share secures the path of autonomy. If these past wild seasons have taught us anything it's that we aren't meant to do any of this alone (and let's add: nothing is as valuable as our elders or as nice as someone delivering your groceries) and Help At Your Door makes real the possibility of an empowered community.
