Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods donates 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Tripawds ASAP!

If you've been following along with the recent adventures of Ruby-the-wonder-shop-dog then you know that she (successfully! triumphantly!) had one of her hind legs removed a few months ago. While the decision to move forward on her (amazing!) vet's recommendation was clearly the correct course of action for Ruby, the news, the diagnosis, and timeline was super fast and wholly unexpected—and, in addition to the heart-roller-coaster, the procedure also came as an unexpected expense. 

Our dogs are our literal family and we were beyond fortunate to be able to cover Ruby's unexpected medical costs out of pocket. For so many though, when faced with the same heart-wrenching decisions, choosing to prioritize deeply necessary but unexpected medical costs of a major "surprise" procedure just isn't an option. 

Enter Tripawds ASAP: the Tripawds Amputation Surgery Assistance Program provides grants to help financially distressed individuals with the unexpected financial burden of amputation surgery for a dog (or cat!). An unexpected, major veterinary procedure like amputation can create financial hardship for families and for those with limited financial means, amputation surgery costs can be out of reach. The inability to pay can literally be a life or death decision. Oh, heart!

Knowing that our own newly minted "Tripawd" is safe, healthy, and healing has been a beautiful blessing and a sweet relief. Sharing that blessing and relief with other beloved paw-some family members feels darn good. *Almost* as good as watching Ruby bound joyfully through the snow on the road to a full recovery.
