Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods contributes 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Helping Paws!
Helping Paws is a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization that breeds, trains, and places assistance dogs with people who need them. These four (or three!) legged friends are always there to lend a helping paw to their companions with physical disabilities or those experiencing PTSD, often veterans and first responders. The support and aid provided by these pawesome (can't stop won't stop) friends provides an increase in independence and an improved quality of life—veterans who can sleep through the night or drive children to school with less distress, countless keys and phones retrieved, gloves removed, doors opened, and lights turned on for those who cannot accomplish such tasks alone. See more of their good work (and puppies!) here.
If you don't need anything from us, please consider donating directly to Helping Paws here. If you do find yourself in need of a new leash or a fresh sheepskin (Ruby's favorite place to rest her own helping paws) know that your purchase goes to support good change happening on the community level.
Thanks to Kate for the nomination!
