Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods contributes 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Gender Justice.
In a fog of endless scrolling this week looking for some sort of personal resonant call to action, something to DO besides *just* vote (yeah) or campaign contribute (uh, ok?), trying to listen more than talk, and riding the lightning of emotions after the SCOTUS ruling—from rage to despair to bottomless angst to righteous indignation to deep sorrow (and around and around again) we saw this, in our personal feeds, from the powerfully brilliant St. Paul-based community organizer, justice fighter, and joy creator Wintana Melekin:
We've featured Gender Justice as a Giving Friday recipient before and are happy to listen up and do it again: Gender Justice is a St. Paul-based non-profit dedicated to advancing gender equity through the power of the law. Gender Justice works nimbly and thoughtfully within limiting frameworks to ensure that people of all genders have a meaningful right to bodily autonomy, safety, health, and opportunity. Because literally everyone deserves to be safe, healthy, and in charge of their own bodies.
If you don't need anything from us, please consider directly supporting Gender Justice here.
If you DO find yourself in need of anything from us, know that your purchase goes to support good change happening on the community level.
Thanks to Tana for the original nomination, to Wintana for speaking so that we may listen, and to everyone else transcending everything else to come together in service of true justice and continued freedom.
If YOU have a worthy cause to nominate for our Foundry Giving Friday initiative, pop on over to our Nomination Page and drop us a line. We're all in this together.
