Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods donates 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? The People's Laundry MPLS!

The People's Laundry MPLS is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit that, in short, does people's laundry, no questions asked. Perhaps you've never thought of "laundry" as an essential human right, but—right up there with food security, safe drinking water, and, broadly, "shelter"—lack of access to laundry services is just one of the major, debilitating trickle-down symptoms of poverty, racism, and systemic oppression. People deserve to wear clean clothes. And, while our communities are working towards naming and addressing the root causes of needless human suffering, the laundry is piling up. @thepeopleslaundrympls is helping fix that, one load at a time.

We are pleased and proud to support this excellent locally-based organization this Foundry Giving Friday! If you don't need anything from us, consider supporting them directly (and if you have time and a lonely washing machine, you can volunteer to wash + dry, sew a few laundry bags, or pick-up and drop off a few loads yourself—several members of our laundry-loving Foundry Family have volunteered and it's a gratifying, distance-friendly mode of community service in these wild times). If you DO find yourself in need of beeswax or bulk supplies, know that your purchase goes to support good change happening on the community level.
