6/24/2022 Foundry Giving Friday: Safebow

Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods contributes 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. In honor of Pride Month, all of our Foundry Giving Friday recipients for the month of June will be LGBTQIA+ organizations... next up:  Safebow.

Safebow is a grassroots organization aiding evacuation from Ukraine, with a priority on those in the most at-risk war zones and members of marginalized groups. Founded by model (and glorious, wild, generous human) Rain Dove in the days immediately following the invasion, Safebow is still on the ground...16 weeks in and counting. In their own words:

"We initially started by providing mental health support and a safe space for Ukrainians and Russians alike. However, it quickly turned into us actively helping people cross the Ukrainian border with a special focus on LGBTQ+, disabled and BIPOC individuals. Safebow is different from other (amazing!) organizations in the sense that we offer one-on-one guidance for refugees fleeing the war and those who reach out to us in need of information. There is an exponentially increasing need for case managers and researchers within SafeBow as Ukraine surpasses the 12.4 million mark of displaced individuals."

As conditions continue to shift and humanity continues to stand against atrocity, people continue to deserve safe passage.

If you don't need anything from us, please consider investing directly in Safebow here. If you do find yourself in need of fresh beeswax or a new sheepskin know that your purchase goes to support good change happening on the community level.

Thanks to Lillian for the nomination.

If YOU have a worthy cause to nominate for our Foundry Giving Friday initiative, pop on over to our Nomination Page and drop us a line. We're all in this together.
