Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods contributes 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Beyond Pesticides!

As the temperatures just *begin* to rise, we are starting to see honeybees making their spring cleansing flights, stretching their wings to visit the very earliest of the blossoms. This is also a time when beekeepers start to take stock of their beeyards, who made it through, and who didn't.

With bees on the brain, this week's Giving Friday recipient is Beyond Pesticides. This DC based national non-profit has over 40 years of advocacy and policy experience protecting public health and the environment with science, policy, and action, leading the transition to a world free of toxic pesticides. 

And while it was nominated by our friend Beekeeper Kate (of Minnesota-Clover-Honey + Iconic-Beeswax-Goods fame) Beyond Pesticides does more than just protect bees and pollinators. Dangerous toxic pesticides are shockingly ubiquitous, and this organization works to inform people on the local level what's going on/into their parks/schools/public spaces/food production spaces/drinking water and empower them to demand and enact alternatives. Seriously, they're everywhere.
