Every Friday The Foundry Home Goods contributes 5% of our total sales to a different community-nominated small-and-mighty cause. This Friday's Foundry Giving Friday recipient? Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi.
Formerly known as Lower Phalen Creek Project, Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi is a Native-Led, East Side environmental conservation nonprofit. Founded in 1997 by community activists, Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi works to engage people to honor and care for our precious natural places and the sacred sites and cultural value within them. Their four project areas stretch from Lake Phalen to the Mississippi River and throughout the East Side River District, where they work in the spheres urban conservation and restoration, cultural connection and healing, and environmental education.
If you don't need anything from us, consider supporting Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi directly. If you DO find yourself in need of anything from us, know that your purchase goes to support good change happening on the community level.
Thanks to Molly for the nomination!
