One of the things we love most about living here is our city's sense of possibility. Neighborhoods feel like home, vistas appear magically, quiet corners hide new spots that quickly feel like old favorites, and moments of both subtle beauty and great grandeur can often be spotted like daffodils popping up through thick snow... if you know where to look.
Let's be real for a second. Do you have a favorite cup? A cup amongst all the cups in your cup-board that you reach for again and again, from the morning's first fresh-squeezed juice to the evening's last highball? Do you like how it feels in your hand and against your lips? Do you take it with you around the house? Are you bummed if it's dirty? Is it sacrilege when (gasp!) someone else pours themselves something in it? We have had this cup. We have loved this cup. We have lost this cup.
There is a fresh new batch of ceramic goods in the shop this week from our dear friend Ginny Sims. We can't wait for you to take a look!
Macausland's is a 146 year old (!!!) sawmill-turned-woolen-mill operating on Prince Edward Island, Canada. We're talking wayyyy up there on the Atlantic Coast, past Nova Scotia, in an area that was first colonized by the French back in the mid-1700's. The mill is now in its fourth generation of family ownership and has been producing impeccably soft, cozy, 100% virgin wool blankets since 1932.
