A serrated bread knife is an absolute must-have. This beautiful version of the kitchen necessity came from a discussion between lovers of bread: "I want to start cutting at the edge of smaller, harder round boules without the knife slipping"..."I want to have beautiful slender slices cut from the center of a big loaf fall away from the blade without making a crumb"..."I want to finish cutting through the bottom of a thick loaf without bearing down so hard I cut into the wood of my cutting board". This super-sharp knife does it all. The high quality hand-crafted stainless steel blade has a sharp point (for "starting" crusts), small teeth towards the end (for finishing cutting through them effortlessly), and wide teeth at the middle (for perfect even slicing). The handle is carved from beautiful Japanese Keyaki wood and will last a very long time. 9 1/2" long.
Take Care: We recommend occasionally sharpening the blade using the method of your choosing. Occasionally oil the wood with your preferred wood conditioner (we swear by Old Mill's All Natural Beeswax and Mineral Oil Wood Polish, available right here at The Foundry), being sure to allow enough time for the wood to absorb the oil before its next use. Hand wash only, please.
