Yes, this is a Croissant Lamp. And, yes, it is perfection. Hand-crafted in Japan by artist and former artisan baker Yukiko Morita, each Croissant Lamp is made from a real croissant, resinated with a neutralizing anti-bacterial and anti-fungal seal coat to keep the croissant glowing fresh for a lifetime. The rich, dare we say...buttery light from the Croissant Lamp is a joy, providing warm, ambient light for bedside, nursery, or desk. Equipped with a 50,000 hour LED bulb and powered by a single AA battery (not included) this will glow for a long while. To turn it off/on, simply place on a flat surface to activate the sensor switch. The gentle light is so mellow and flattering we've been known to gift these to both new parents to illuminate midnight feedings and newlyweds (one pair of which brought it on their honeymoon and who now will say "it's croissant time!" when... it's croissant time;).
