Carved Maple Rice Paddle - 12"

Availability: In stock (16)
A traditional rice paddle is a glorious thing. The large, flat "spoons" are used for stirring and serving rice, folding in vinegar or scallions, or crushing vegetables (like garlic or cucumbers). We personally love it for scrambling perfect eggs. This hand-made version of the traditional "shamoji" is truly stunning. Milled in Michigan from a single piece of diamond-hard smooth grained maple wood, the rich, dreamy sustainably harvested hardwood is unstained and finished with rich, food-safe mineral oil to let the natural grain and tone shine. We like to run a little leather throng through the hole in the handle and keep it close to hand by the stove.

Hand wash and dry (oh, please don't run it through the dishwasher!). Apply your favorite food-safe wood conditioner when necessary (we swear by Old Mill's All Natural Beeswax and Mineral Oil Wood Polish, available right here at The Foundry).
