Ayurveda believes that the human body is a microcosm of the universe (agree) made up of five classical elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Combinations of these elements fall into three main categories called "doshas"-Pitta, kapha, and Vata-and when these doshas fall into imbalance, the body-mind becomes disconnected from its original state of harmony with nature and the universe.
This detox oil cleanses Kapha skin from the inside out, stimulating circulation for those who often experience excess oil or stagnation. Therapeutic mustard seed oil, basil oil, myrrh, rosemary, and sage mobilize "ama" (toxins) from tissues to help lethargic Kaphas move gracefully towards balance.
Directions: Apply all over the body to damp skin after bathing. Massage into skin until fully absorbed.
Ingredients: Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Brahmi. 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils of Geranium, Lavender, Sandalwood, and Turmeric.
There is ample scholarship on Ayurveda and the Doshas, but in to help dial in on yours:
Vata: Characterized by the mobile nature of Wind (Air). Dry, light, cold, subtle, mobile, clear. Governs movement and communication. Out of balance, causes fear, anxiety, isolation, loneliness, and exhaustion.
Pitta: Embodies the transformative nature of Fire. Hot, sharp, light, liquid, spreading. Governs digestion and transformation. Out of balance, causes fiery, reactionary emotions such as frustration, anger, jealously, and criticism.
Kapha: Reflects the binding nature of Water. Cool, slow, heavy, smooth, soft, stable. Governs cohesiveness + structure. Out of balance, causes emotions of attachment, greed, and possessiveness and can also create stubbornness, lethargy, and resistance to change.
