We like to think of this New-York-based collective as our star-crossed sisters. Dreamer-in-chief Sarah has assembled a crew of wildflower obsessives, shepherdesses, herbalists, and bon vivants who help to craft Saipua's world of wild beauty, comet bright and yet deeply anchored in family and sense of place. These exquisite cold-processed hand-made soaps started as an experiment in Sarah's mother Susan's basement and can we say? IT WAS A SUCCESS. Susan (now with help from Sarah's father Pentti) measures, pours, and cuts each batch of 88 bars by hand. The resulting rich, intoxicatingly scented, and beautifully wrapped soaps are a joy to use-and make lovely gifts, if we do say so ourselves. In addition to whatever lovelies indicated in the name (French Clay, Oatmeal, Charcoal, e.g.) bars are made from saponified oils of olive, coconut, and castor, with shea butter and essential oils.
