“To be human being is an honor, and we offer thanksgiving for all the gifts of life. Mother Earth, we thank you for giving us everything we need...Thank you, good foods from Mother Earth, our life sustainers, for making us happy when we are hungry. Fruits and berries, we thank you for your color and sweetness. We are all thankful to good medicine herbs, for healing us when we are sick…”- Mohawk Daily Message of Thankfulness, translated by Chief Jake Swamp

Harnessing the healing power of plants is a sacred and ancient art—yet many modern plant-based medicinals are made with industrially farmed ingredients that have traveled far from their roots. Lauren, a wonderfully practical human/herbalist, started Wooden Spoon Herbs to bring the generations-deep tradition of biodiverse healing native to southern Appalachia back to our shared communities. Based in a cabin in North Georgia, this small-batch herbal apothecary only uses thoughtfully gathered, American-grown herbs and botanicals—either lovingly hand-picked, wild-foraged, or locally sourced from small family-run medicinal herb farms. The resulting tinctures, salves, elixirs and creams are, truly, the best kind of medicine.

Sacred Sister is an earthy women’s tonic tea. High in calcium and iron, it helps sacred sisters (and brothers) maintain high levels of vitamins and minerals, and therefore healthy bodies, minds, and spirits. Sacred Sister is perfect for nourishing our intricate generative systems, and for promoting uterine health and tone. Drink to your health!* Nettle is chock-full of vitamins and mineral, from A to K and many in between. It supports many bodily processes, especially the menstrual cycle. Our nettle comes from an organic farm in Oregon. Red raspberry is an astringent herb that tones smooth muscles, like the uterus. Many of us eat the fruit, but few drink the tea of the leaves. Highly nourishing and tasty. Our raspberry leaf comes from a small organic farm in Vermont. Red clover is a sweet tasting weedy herb that does so many beautiful things for the body. It’s mildly phytoestrogenic, gently calming and supports a balanced endocrine system. Ours comes from a small organic farm in North Carolina. Ingredients: nettle*, oatstraw*, red raspberry*, burdock root, red clover*, alfalfa* (all organic) (*certified organic, **grown without chemicals) To use: Steep 2 teaspoons of tea in 8 ounces of hot water, covered, for at least 5 minutes. 1.5 oz / 43 g *These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
