Mulberry craftsmen from the island have a centuries-old history going back to making these same types of objects for emperors. This sweet, simple traditional "shamoji" spatula is naturally hydrophobic and pleasingly smooth to the touch so this stays cleaner and fresher than your standard old spoon while the slender, slightly "sharp" edge and shallow "bowl" (not flat like a standard spatula) make it our go-to for everything from sweating mirepoix to executing perfect scrambled eggs.
