These classic, elegant, quintessentially British lamps are, in a word, iconic. From Queen Elizabeth's desk (both on "The Crown" and IRL) to task lighting at Abbey Road Studios, from James Bond's MI6 headquarters to a giant BFG version commissioned by Roald Dahl for his writing room, these have been Britain's ever-stylish go-to for over 85 years.

Constant tension in the perfectly balanced brass springs and beams make (and hold!) the slightest adjustments to height and angle. With a fully adjustable shade and a 360 degree swivel base, task lighting has never been so effortlessly elegant. Satisfyingly weighty and truly timeless, these lamps are built to last. When an Anglepoise Navigator lamp (produced for RAF pilots during WWII) was found in the belly of a Wellington bomber at the bottom of Loch Ness by salvagers looking for Nessie (!), all they had to do was put in a new bulb and plug it in. We don't necessarily recommend submerging your lamp for 40 years, but we can vouch for these as just the thing for bedside, end-table, kitchen counter, or drafting board.

For maximum versatility, the lamp can be removed from its base and re-mounted in a clamp base, or as a wall sconce, or floor lamp. Let there be (more!) light.
