This elegant, sophisticated, workmanlike leather satchel is the perfect size for briefcase, day bag, carry-on, backpack, or (dare we say?) diaper bag. Carry it by its steel-barred leather handle, using the adjustable, removable over-the-shoulder strap (long enough to go cross-body on many people), or with the ingenious removable backpack straps. A center zippered compartment divides the interior into two generous sections and is large enough to fit most laptops. Two quick release clip clasps on the front make it easy to open and close, while a little leather slot for three pens (or two pens and a magic wand) and the two deep front pockets are ultra-utilitarian and super-stylish. This bag can schlep a lot! Made of full-grain European cowhide and naturally tanned at a generations-old Belgian tannery, like all Ruitertassen bags, this one gets better and better the more it is used and loved. 15" x 11" x 5"
p.s. This is Lillian's favorite.
About the line: Made in a traditional tannery established in 1873, the iconic leather bags have been hand-made in Belgium with the same loving attention to detail for almost 100 years. The signature "Belgian leather" is chrome-free, 100% vegetable-tanned, uncolored, and simply finished with a natural oil. The resulting full-grain leather construction is designed to withstand the rigors of whatever adventures-work-week, wanderlust, or otherwise-you can throw at them. The leather shows (glorious) signs of its use, developing a beautiful patina individual to each user. No two well-loved bags are alike and we love that about them. Kept oiled, these bags can last for, literally, generations.
Lillian owns + loves these things!
I love love love this bag! I've been dragging it around for 5 years now. Pens have exploded, coffees have spilled, dogs have snuffled through digging for treats... I haven't conditioned it yet, it's developing such a nice patina! It's my go to carry on bag because it tucks under airplane seats. And BONUS you'll get lots of compliments in the airport :)
