Necessity is the mother of invention...but, you know, not a regular mom, like, a cool mom. When our Foundry founder Anna looked high and low for her ideal taper candle holder (balanced, weighty, minimal, low-profile, natural, unassuming, classic, handle-less-yet-holdable) and she couldn't find it, she designed it herself. Lovingly hand-made in Minneapolis, these beautiful, streamlined candle holders are fitted with a subtle flush-mounted brass capital that securely holds even the tallest tapers upright. Perfectly home on all tables and mantles. Just as we designed them to be. 3" x 3".
About the maker: Our very own woodworking woodsmaiden has been nurturing her passion for gorgeous wood grains since she was six years old. Every Mara Metz piece starts with a painstaking selection process to be sure that the shape, grain, and nature of the raw wood is exactly suited to the size, shape, and function of the finished piece. Thoughtfully hand-crafted in her studio from locally-sourced hardwoods (reclaimed when possible), the resulting exquisite, richly tactile woodenware is lovingly finished with Mara's own food-safe oil and beeswax blend. A simple treatment to let the natural beauty of the wood shine for generations to come.
Take Care: These are built to last. Avoid submerging in water and occasionally recondition the wood with your preferred food-safe wood conditioner (we swear by Old Mill's All Natural Beeswax and Mineral Oil Wood Polish, available right here at The Foundry), being sure to allow enough time for the wood to absorb the oil before its next use.
