Our love affair with room temperature butter knows no bounds. Crusty bread with radishes and salt, warm toast, grilled cheese prep...everything is better with spreadable butter. In fact, life is better with easy butter. The perfect place for that butter to live? Why, in this Japanese porcelain lidded dish, of course. Hasami, Japan (where the Hakusan porcelain works is based) is renowned for the purity and translucent whiteness of its fine local clay and Hakusan has been crafting these gorgeous ceramics there since 1779(!). And, while our go-to use for this sophisticated, streamlined storage dish is for keeping butter at hand, these also stack easily and are wonderful for corralling all manner of small things, both in the kitchen and around the house. 5 1/2" long, 2 1/2" tall with lid, these fit two sticks of Land'O'Lakes and perfectly accommodate a single wider brick of imported beurre. Dishwasher, microwave, and, of course, fridge safe (if keeping butter on the counter weirds you out).
