This dreamy cream-colored stoneware pendant shade is a total swoon. Hand-thrown by genius ceramicist (and resident sweetheart) Ginny Sims, this stunning take on the classic schoolhouse form is ideally suited to so many spaces and styles. The hand-throwing gives each piece a perfectly-imperfect vibe we're completely obsessed with. Save us from ourselves and put this over your breakfast table, kitchen island, desk, or entryway.
10" bell with approximate 1 5/8" socket opening. We recommend taking this to your local lighting shop and having them expertly fit this with the necessary accoutrements.
These lovely pendants are made to order for The Foundry. If you'd like to order one (or more! looking at you, counter-zone-that-would-benefit-from-three-of-these-in-a-row)shoot us an email at [email protected] and we'll follow up with details.
About the artist: Ginny Sims is a Minneapolis-based artist and magic maker whose works are always at the tip top of our must-covet list here at The Foundry. With an MFA from the University of Minnesota-where she now teaches-and apprenticeships in Scotland, Italy, and England (lastly under master potter Mike Dodd in Somerset), her one-of-a-kind pieces take traditional ceramics techniques and motifs and infuse them with an iconography all her own. From beautifully hand-crafted versions of everyday necessaries to weirdly wonderful fine art sculptures, the world of Ginny Sims is one of delightful and enchanting strangeness, one we love to be a part of. We're one of the only places her works are sold, so we recommend snagging them while they last.
